Characteristics of space frame structure

 The load of the space structure is uniformly transferred. When bearing the load, the space frame structure can transfer the load to all the members, which bear the load, and distribute the load evenly to the support of the space structure. The construction is fast and convenient, and the space frame structure is an assemblable component, which greatly reduces the difficulty of construction and shortens the construction period. Construction equipment can be installed in the space frame structure itself, reducing the installation of auxiliary construction trouble. The structure has high strength and large load. The  space frame structure has more fixed ends, and in general, even if the occasional damage to the components will not necessarily cause the destruction of the entire structure. Because the space space frame structure mostly has a fixed regular pattern, it can give people a sense of impact visually. The large-span space structure has high installation efficiency and obvious installation advantages. In the case of limited engineering site, the space frame structure can not only assemble the whole roof on the ground but also to some extent.

 

The main construction methods of the space frame structure include high-altitude bulk method, block or strip installation method, integral jacking method, high-altitude slip method, and "folding expansion" integral lifting method.

High-altitude bulk method: High-altitude bulk method refers to the construction method of assembly units or direct connection with rods and nodes at a high-altitude design position. This kind of method in the construction stage of the rod and node positioning accuracy requirements are higher, the general installation sequence is: four sides to the middle installation, the middle to both sides installation and the middle to the four sides installation.

Block or strip installation method: refers to the space frame is divided into block or strip units, and then the unit is lifted to the design position with lifting equipment, and finally assembled into a whole.

High-altitude sliding method: lifting equipment is used to lift the assembled space frame unit to the sliding track, and the space frame unit is moved to the design position through the sliding track for assembly.



The overall installation method of the space frame frame: the space frame frame is assembled into a whole on the ground in advance, and then the lifting equipment is lifted to the design position for one installation.

"Folding and expanding" overall lifting method: complete the overall assembly of the reticulated shell structure on the ground, and then remove the inconsistent rods that have been assembled, so that the collapsible reticulated shell structure can reduce the construction height to the greatest extent, expand the structure after lifting to the design position, and reinstall the rods to restore the original complete ground reticulated shell structure.

With people's pursuit of building comfort, aesthetics, construction period and other factors, the space frame structure needs to be applied from standardized, scientific and systematic construction technology to improve the construction efficiency and speed up the construction process. Spatial space frame structures are mostly composed of smaller units or lattice connections of a similar style, and are usually used in roof structures.
